FNB Swaziland is active in supporting various development national initiatives and the arts are not an exception.

The bank has contributed E60 000 towards the upcoming MTN SWAMA Awards which are set for December 1, 2018 hosted by the Swaziland Arts and Music Association (SWAMA). 

During an official handover of the sponsorship on July 27 at Corporate Place Rooftop, FNB’s Head of Marketing Zethu Dlamini said that it was an honoured to get more involved in arts in Eswatini. She noted that the arts were now more than just a hobby but a business for many and a livelihood. 

“One of our first engagements in the arts and music in the country was with FNB SmoothFest, and now, we are proud to sponsor the upcoming SWAMA Awards with E60 000,” she said. 

President of SWAMA Melusi Dlamini said the sponsorship would go a long way in enhancing the quality of the event as well as developing the arts.

“We are very pleased with such an investment from FNB Swaziland and thank you for recognising the arts as an industry worth developing. From all the artists of Eswatini we are very grateful,” he said.

Patron of SWAMA Princess Sakhizwe expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, saying that the quality of the awards would be enhanced because of it. “We gladly receive the sponsorship and we hope that your company continues assisting the arts industry, as many people are now making a living out of it,” she said.

The sponsorship will also cater for three award categories on the night namely Best Swati Soul Artist, Best Jazz Artist and Best Poet. Some of the nominees were present at the hand-over event that was spiced up by poetry, comedy and live music.
