Future Save

The youth is being helped to save for the future in a more innovative way than a piggy bank through FNB’s Future Save Account—and they love it!

This savings account is for children under 18 years, where you can withdraw or deposit money at any
FNB branch or ATM and make purchases at shops, restaurants and others using a VISA Electron card.

In interviews with a couple of teenagers they said having a bank card at such an early age was quite empowering and also economically liberating. Two of these teenagers got the accounts as part of their prizes from an Essay Contest sponsored by FNB Swaziland. Nosipho Makhunga said “It has come in very handy for me because through my savings I can now go to an ATM and withdraw if I have any emergency like needing extra money for a school trip.”  Bonkhe Simelane who is quite techno-savvy said the internet capability of the card helps him to purchase items online. “When doing a project that required me to access certain things online I was able to use my Future Save Card. I am grateful for it,” he said.

FNB’s Head of Retail Zilindile Dlamini Friedman said the Future Save account was essential in teaching children to save from a very young age.

“The young people need to know how to transact and work online and such products teach them from an early age to use technology to the best way. This helps a child to grow and stand on their own two feet financially,” she said.

This savings account is easy to use, cost effective, secure, and can do everything that a savings book can and more.

Parents/Guardians require an Eswatini Identity Document, proof of residence: a recent (less than 3 months old) utility account, e.g. water or electricity and your child’s birth certificate.
